International Amandas

Internationality is going to be visible in all Havis Amanda activities in 2010. International project, Global Leaders Tournament, is run by Amandas and the twinning cooperation is active. The goal is to persuade several members to take part in both European Conference in Denmark in June and World Conference in Japan in November. Heini Kuntsi, INT2010, has planned to make internationality visible in monthly happenings in different ways throughout the year. 

 

The JCI Twinning Program

The JCI Twinning Program is a voluntary and reciprocal agreement between national organizations or local organizations in different countries, regions or cities. The objective is to exchange personal visits, ideas, projects and culture.

JCI Mariehamn from Åland is our twinning chapter. Twinning agreement was signed in JCI European Conference in Turku (June 2008). Active cooperation was organized in 2009 between the two chapters: we visited each others’ annual celebrations and organized a twinning event in Helsinki in which the members of JCI Mariehman were able to participate in our Easter charity project. Both parties are very satisfied with the cooperation and the plan is to keep it active in upcoming years.

 

Global Leaders Tournament 2010

Amandas are organizing Global Leaders Tournament (GLT) in 2010. GLT is an international project and thus marketed to all JCI chapters around the world.

Global Leaders Tournament is an interactive virtual learning experience and competition designed for teams of 3 to 5 people. Over 5 weeks period of time, teams run a simulated company in direct competition with teams from other chapters around the globe. Every two weeks, each team will spend 2-4 hours planning and executing a year’s worth of business decisions for the virtual company — one practice round and four years of business planning in all. Ultimate success is determined by a team’s ability to maximize growth, customer and employee satisfaction and profit, all against the backdrop of intense global competition. GLT is an excellent way to build teamwork and learn new financial skills to apply back on the real business world.
